Emyooga money handover to the beneficiaries

As Kapelebyong district local government moves to eradicate poverty in the public through Emyooga, groups have already withdrawn sh403,480,771.
The data as of March, has seen all the Associations complying to the rules guiding the 18 SACCOS.
George Ekunyu, the principal commercial Officer says, the SACCOS need to utilize the money effectively for them to benefit.
The groups that have benefited are; Ajeleik Fish Farmers Association (sh30m), Nyada market vendors association (11,145,000), Obalanga Women Elected Local Leaders (14,730,000) and Kapelebyong County salon operators (21,210,000), among others.
Emyooga is a presidential initiative aimed at eradicating poverty and creating employment opportunities.
According to the program, sh30m seed capital is deposited to each constituency SACCO but only Associations are expected to benefit after saving some money.
