Kapelebyong receives tablet devices for PDM implementation

Kapelebyong district local government on Thursday 9th January 2024, distributed significant tablet devices and power banks to critically its selected staff.

The distribution of 123 tablets and 123 power banks in the district council hall was officiated by the Mr. Esele Julius Peter, the Assistant Resident District Commisioner in the presence of the Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Oroma Rhoda and District Chairperson, Mr. Akorikin Francis.

During the exercise, Mr. Esele called for effective utilisation of the supplied devices for sustainable social economic development of communities.

“Please keep these devices well against thieves. Ensure that they are not easily damaged,” Mr. Esele called on the beneficiaries in a colourful ceremony.

Ms. Oroma appreciated the government for considering to support the selected staff, calling it as a perfect decision for successful implementation of PDM.

She urged the beneficiary staff to put the devices in to rightful use.

The devices which were supplied by the Government of Uganda through the Ministry of local Government were distributed to District Planner, Principal Commercial Officer, Communication Officer, Senior Commercial Officer, the Community Development Officers in charge of sub counties, the Town Agents and Parish Chiefs.

The devices are purposed for Parish Development Model (PDM) implementation, co-ordination, inspection and support supervision for the schedules of respective jurisdictions of selected officers.

Kapelebyong District Local Government comprises of 55 parishes and wards, 11 sub counties and town councils whose staff are the at core centre of PDM implementation.

The 55 parishes and wards constitute 55 PDM SACCOS which the government has been funding with seed capital with the focus of elevating them from poverty.
